Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Korean Medicine treatment and to call for in-depth study of iliotibial band syndrome.

Methods : Three patients, diagnosed as iliotibial band syndrome, were treated by Korean Medicine interventions; acupuncture, electroacupuncture at Gluteus maximus, lateral femoral epicondyle, Gerdy tubercle, cupping at local region and physical therapy of Korean medicine. Visual analog scale(VAS) was used as a measure of the effect of treatment on iliotibial band syndrome.

Results : As result, knee pain decreased and VAS score decreased in two cases. In one case, however, the symptoms did not change and the VAS score was the same.

Conclusions : For iliotibial band syndrome, Korean rehabilitation therapy can be used effectively. More research is needed to establish the rehabilitation protocol for the intervention of iliotibial band syndrome.
